August 2025 Board Briefing

You spoke and we listened! In an effort to maintain transparency we are bringing back our quarterly Board Briefings. We are striving to communicate with you. As always, your Board is here for you. Please feel free to reach out to the Board at any time!

Three exciting things we worked on last quarter: 

  • Bylaw Changes
    The Board has been updating language and working diligently to streamline the bylaws to keep in accordance with our mission and vision.  

  • Faith Forward Foundation 
    With the congregation’s approval, we have created the Faith Forward Foundation. This will replace the Endowment Fund and allow freedom to diversify investments and continue the important work the endowment fund started.  

  • Board Elections 
    Elections took place in May. Three members have been seated and work has begun! The newly elected members are Stacy Haddad, Sean Hoyer and Steff Woell. Jan Kehe, Paul Shafer, Rick Green, Chase Clarke, Erin Schjerven, and Leanne Thomas continue to serve on the board as well.  

 What we are looking forward to this upcoming quarter: 

  • DCE Intern 
    Liz Rossow was installed August 2/3. We are blessed to have her and look forward to her work at POP.  

  • Path of Peace 
    We are digging deep in this sermon series. We look forward to putting the practices we are learning into action.  

  • Community Outreach
    We celebrate how we are already deeply connected in our community even as we are looking for more ways to love our neighbors as ourselves.

  • Better alignment of resources  
    We are exploring ways to be the best stewards of what we have been given to shine God’s light brightly.
