Waiting to Greet a Neighbor: The Path to Peace is Within the Human Heart

This watercolor is of my children and me in our first home—a farmhouse in rural upstate New York. I have compassion for that young mother, she was isolated and felt very much alone. Kind neighbors reached out to her and helped ease that isolation. Different religions, different life views, different politics, different educations, don’t matter—human kindness does. The path to peace truly comes from the human heart.
