Everyone Belongs
Acrylic Painting by Charlotte S.
In my painting, there are lots of different children playing in the grass and doing all kinds of activities. There’s a little toddler girl wearing pink who is sitting in the grass and waving. There’s a five-year-old boy who is jumping. An older girl in sixth grade is doing a handstand! There’s also a boy in a wheelchair flying a kite. The kite has a crown with gems on it, and there are hearts around it. It shows that everyone is welcome! There’s a big picnic basket in the grass so everyone can eat lunch together. Nobody gets left out. Did you notice that everyone has blue skin? That’s because skin color doesn’t matter—everyone belongs. I also made the sun sparkle by decorating it with glass bead gel. It was really sticky.
