When: Thursday, August 8 | 6:30-9:00pm
Where: Prince of Peace Room 9
What’s Happening? POP members will be equipped to visit other members and friends who are homebound and not able to participate in POP activities. We bring POP to them through friendly visits. While our pastors regularly visit shut-ins for spiritual care, there is a need for more frequent visits to show and remind how the church cares. After initial training or orientation, visitation ministry volunteers will be matched with a person to visit on a regular basis.

Training will cover these important topics:

  • Basis of Christian care and our role as caregivers

  • Visitation team member job description and fit in the overall care team

  • Practical aspects of visitation

  • Skills for successful visits — i.e. listening, questions, boundaries, prayer, sharing scripture

  • POP process for insuring quality visits and good communication
